On April 25, while Chinese Culture Connection was busy hosting two engaging cultural workshops, members of our team also had the opportunity to participate in Healthy Kids Day at the Mystic Valley YMCA — a vibrant, community-centered event focused on promoting healthy lifestyles for children and families.
Healthy Kids Day is a nationwide initiative that encourages kids and families to prioritize physical activity, nutrition, and overall well-being. This year’s event brought together a wide range of local organizations, activities, and resources — all free and open to the community.
The turnout was incredible, with over 250 attendees, including many families with children of all ages. The space was filled with energy as participants explored activity stations, enjoyed games, and connected with community organizations.
At our CCC table, we had a wonderful time meeting both children and parents, sharing information about our programs, and introducing our mission of promoting cultural learning and community engagement. It was especially rewarding to see so much genuine interest and enthusiasm — many families were excited to learn about our classes, workshops, and weekly programming.
Events like Healthy Kids Day highlight the importance of community connection and holistic development — not just physical health, but also cultural awareness, creativity, and social engagement. We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day and to connect with so many new faces.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about Chinese Culture Connection. We look forward to welcoming you to our future programs and continuing to grow together as a community.
