On April 11, we welcomed 23 participants from Malden and surrounding communities to our From Lab to Clinic panel—an inspiring session designed to shed light on the many pathways within healthcare and research.
The panel featured two professionals with distinct yet complementary experiences: a family medicine physician specializing in sleep medicine, and a postdoctoral research fellow dedicated to advancing medical research. Through their insights, attendees gained a clearer understanding of both clinical practice and academic research, as well as the diverse opportunities available within each field.
From discussing day-to-day responsibilities to sharing personal career journeys, our speakers offered valuable perspectives for anyone interested in pursuing a future in healthcare. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, explore different educational paths, and better understand how roles in medicine and research intersect to improve patient outcomes and drive innovation.
This event was hosted as part of the YouLead Initiative and made possible through funding from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Office of Problem Gambling Services.
We extend our sincere thanks to our guest speakers and all who attended for making this a meaningful afternoon of learning and mentorship.
